THE first patient to join the DyNAMIc clinical trial said she hopes to benefit from the ultra-advanced new cancer monitoring.
Supermarket worker Jan Smith, 64, of Stockport, started to suffer severe pain in November 2022 and was rushed to A&E.
A scan revealed kidney stones which doctors were able to treat - but it also showed a 12-inch mass around her adrenal gland and a biopsy confirmed she had a stage 4 melanoma.
Jan, who shares her home with her five cats, said: "I hadn't had any symptoms and never take time off sick at work. The pain I had with the kidney stones was unbelievable, but a real shock to discover I had cancer."
