Families fear babies were stolen as part of 60-year scandal

A BRITISH mum among thousands of people caught up in Spain's stolen baby scandal has spoken of her fight for the truth about her child.

Newborns were taken from couples who opposed dictator Franco or were deemed unsuitable parents – such as single mothers – and given to approved childless couples.

Nuns, priests, nurses and doctors have been implicated in the scandal from the 1930s into the early 1990s.
