Sheffield Wednesday in mire as points docked
THE worst fears of Sheffield Wednesday fans have been realised after the club went into administration and was docked 12 points.
Some £1million in unpaid taxes is owed by the club, while players have not been paid on time on five occasions in the past seven months.
The English Football League said the points deduction was “in accordance with regulations” but administration presents the Championship club with the opportunity for “a successful sale and secure future under new ownership”.
