‘Failing to deliver’ lost Tories election

THE Conservatives lost the election because of failures to deliver on promises rather than being too Left or Right-wing, a leading Westminster think tank has concluded.

The highly respected Centre for Policy Studies says voters deserted over the economy, migration and NHS.

It argues that those who left, whether southern voters to the Lib Dems or northern voters to Labour and Reform, shared the same hardline views on crime, family, welfare and border controls as those who stayed.
