Home Secretary vows to 'do more' after tragedy in Channel

Home Affairs Editor EFFORTS to stop the small boats will be redoubled, the Home Secretary has vowed after two migrants died and two more were missing, feared dead, in the Channel yesterday.

One woman drowned and another migrant was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after a dinghy carrying 66 people deflated at around 1am local time yesterday.

Hours later another migrant died as a boat packed with 80 people sank near Sangatte on the northern coast of France.

French emergency crews treated children suffering from hypothermia.
