EU migrants return deal is required, admits Home Secretary

YVETTE Cooper has admitted she wants to revive a migrant returns deal with the European Union.

The Home Secretary told MPs a “replacement” for the Dublin Agreement is needed as gangs have “taken hold” on UK borders while small boat crossings surge.

She claimed Britain may bring in digital e-visas to identify and track migrants living in the UK.

Ms Cooper told the Home Affairs Committee: “An entire criminal industry has taken hold along our borders, with networks and supply chains that spread right across.
