UNAI EMERY told Aston Villa’s fans that dreams do come true after their Champions League qualification.
And he then urged them not to stop dreaming.
Villa’s head coach was at the club’s awards dinner on Tuesday when news of Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham seeped out.
Emery was given a rapturous reception and spoke of the “amazing” experience of playing in a competition where he, but not his club, has extensive experience.
The Spaniard had no difficulty selling that dream and said if Villa wanted to repeat their famous success of 1982 they had to be in it, to win it.
He said: “This is a very special day. It was our dream when we started the season to be here. To play the Champions League is, after the Premier League, the best.
