PUNTERS put the bookies back in their corner when 'banker' Charles Darwin set off a chain of favourites winning - and kickstarted a treble for Ryan Moore.

- By Melissa Jones

Supported into 8-13 on the back of excellent results for Aidan O'Brien-trained juveniles, market confidence was matched by the rider's body language.

Always front rank, Charles Darwin went into overdrive at the furlong pole and pulled two and a quarter lengths clear of Wise Approach, with American raider Sandal's Song securing third place.

"Charles Darwin is very fast - a big, powerful, strong horse," said O'Brien. "He looks like a four-year-old racing against two-year-olds."
