Former Spurs ace cant help old club as Wolves go down

WEST HAM missed a chance to pile even more pressure on Tottenham when battling out a goalless draw at Selhurst Park.

Victory would have lifted the Hammers four points clear of the relegation zone but they couldn't find a way to beat Crystal Palace.

A point was enough in the end though to finally seal the fate of Wolves, whose relegation from the Premier League was confirmed.

It was West Ham who dumped Spurs into the relegation zone when they thrashed Wolves 4-0 earlier this month, and last night was a golden opportunity for the Hammers to put some daylight between them and their north London rivals.

They fancied their chances too against a Palace team more focused on potential European glory than their league position.

The Eagles had lost six of their previous 10 league games following a UEFA Conference League fixture.
