Now a high-volume producer of toilet rolls, tissues, wipes and sanitary pads, the British brand's core component is the fast growing grass that doesn’t need replanting.

Hand harvested in China one pole at a time to maintain biodiversity, the majority is processed into paper there ahead of distribution in the UK while the fabric is sliced into wipes here.

Just as well the company is a die-hard disrupter as its competition is daunting: a £2billion sector dominated by corporate giants with synthetic, non-biodegradable ranges embedded with absorbent polymers, a close relation of plastic.
