Cafe waitress loses £650.000 house left to her by customer

THE family of an eccentric recluse who signed over his £650,000 home to a waitress he met at his local cafe have won a court fight to get it back.

History and military memorabilia buff Richard Joy died in 2018, having lived his entire life in the family home in Harrow, North West London.

He had amassed collections of rare coins, medals, militaria and books and left his parents' room untouched.

Mr Joy, 82, never married or had children and spent most of his time at the library or on his hobbies.
