Builder is jailed after customers lost £1.25m

A ROGUE builder who fleeced customers out of more than £1.25million has been jailed for 14 years.

Mark Killick, known to clients as Marc Cole, took their money then spent it travelling the world in luxury. He also used it to fund his gambling.

Following a 14-week trial he was found guilty of 37 counts of fraud by false representation, carried out between 2019 and 2021.

It is estimated the value of the work agreed to but not done by Killick, 56, was £1,270,000.

Among his victims was Stephen Gledhill, from Bristol, who told the BBC he paid the fraudster £18,000 in advance for a kitchen.
