'Broken' ex-cop's Intrepid Games bid to help those injured in line of duty

Called the Intrepid Games, Kerry Snuggs, 46, wants the event to provide a platform and community for “those who have suffered injuries as a result of their service”.

Kerry was a police officer for 21 years, four as a special constable and 17 as a regular in Hampshire. She was hurt and ended up needing a leg brace and wheelchair while attending a callout in 2012.

Kerry landed on her kneecap attempting to stop a man from harming himself.

It was painfully misaligned and after surgery and physiotherapy, she returned to work on light duties with a leg brace and wheelchair. But Kerry said she felt “broken” and “like I was a hindrance”, causing her mental health to deteriorate.
