Boots sold weight loss drug to teen without proper age check

A TEENAGE girl was able to buy weight loss jabs from Boots twice without her age being verified, an investigation has found.
The 16-year-old features in an episode of Channel 4's Dispatches, which examined how easily people could obtain the drugs from high street pharmacies.
The teenager gave a false date of birth on her Boots Online Doctor application form to pretend she was 18. She was asked to confirm her age when she picked up the Wegovy medication, but only verbally.
Boots Online Doctor's policy states that it does not prescribe weight-loss jabs to under-18s. It was the only chain featured in the programme that did not require patients to show photo ID.
