BAZBALL has seen some thrilling wins and some gambles that have backfired.

Whether or not the all-ornothing style has played a part here in Hamilton is debatable but whatever the cause, England have felt the sting of a New Zealand backlash in the final Test.

England arrived here 2-0 ahead and hoping to whitewash the Black Caps but found themselves broken open by a pace bowling clinic from Will O'Rourke.

Ben Stokes' side were scattered for 143 all out on the second afternoon, losing all 10 wickets inside 36 chaotic overs and ending a difficult 340 behind with seven wickets still to take.
