'Beast of Avignon' questioned over cold-case murder

FRANCE's most notorious serial rapist was yesterday summoned for questioning over an unsolved murder and another rape.
Beast of Dominique Pelicot, 72, will go to Paris today for an inquiry being led by "cold case" specialists after a DNA breakthrough.
Dubbed "the Avignon", he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the aggravated rape of his ex-wife, Gisele Pelicot, also 72.
Pelicot drugged her for almost a decade and allowed scores of men he met on the internet to rape and sexually abuse her.
The retired estate agent will now be questioned at length about the 1991 rape and murder of Sophie Narme, a 23-year-old estate agent, in greater Paris.
