Arrested after applying for 13 passports

A MIGRANT suspected of organised crime gang links has been arrested in a Home Office swoop after he applied for 13 passports for foreign children.

The 37-year-old Kosovan, who had the right to remain in the UK, was seized during a series of co-ordinated raids across London yesterday.

He was arrested on suspicion of conspir acy to commit fraud by false representation after trying to obtain the passports for foreign nationals under the age of two, who he had claimed were his children.

The attempt was suspected of being part of a wider criminal gang plot to possess identity documents that can be sold to people not entitled to live in the UK.

The immigration officer who led the raid in White City, West London, said: "We suspect that this gentleman has submitted multiple applications to the Passport Office claiming to be the father to 13 children.
