Are you guilty of worst 'eco sins'?

COMMON eco-sins include leaving a vehicle engine running when stopped, not donating old electronics and clothes plus heating your home in summer, a poll reveals.

But the habit thought to be worst for the environment is leaving the lights on in an empty room, respondents have confessed.

Letting a tap run while brushing teeth, overfilling the kettle for just one cup of tea and buying fast fashion also made the list of shame.

Some 58% of 2,000 adults questioned admit their best intentions can fall by the wayside - 46% still buy water in plastic bottles, 41% drive short distances and 31% wear short-life fashions.

Eco-lifestyle and sustainability advocate Charlie Gill, who linked up with refurbishment tech marketplace Back Market for the survey, said: “Trying to live a sustainable lifestyle can feel overwhelming at times, but it really doesn’t have to be.
