Philp blasts delay in clearing Park Lane

SIR Sadiq Khan was challenged to explain why it took weeks to close down a migrant tent village in one of the richest neighbourhoods.

Bailiffs arrived at 5am yesterday to clear out the illegal shanty town on London’s Park Lane.

But it came a month after Transport for London, which is chaired by the city’s mayor, was granted a possession order in May.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp claimed Sir Sadiq “let it fester while he hides in city hall”.

Mr Philp visited the camp, where 30 people were living, with a Daily Express reporter earlier this week.
