CAMPAIGNERS are stepping up their fight against the forced switch from traditional landlines to digital over safety fears as BT prepares to move vulnerable customers.
More than 74,000 people have signed a petition calling on telecoms minister Sir Chris Bryant to make the changeover from analogue voluntary until the issues are sorted.
Digital landlines need an internet connection and do not work during power cuts. Older personal alert systems giving peace of mind in case of falls or illness are also analogue.
