Dubois prone to capitulate but I stay course - Wardley
Coventry Telegraph
|May 05, 2026
WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley has talked up the ability of Daniel Dubois to “capitulate” and warned his rival not to take anything from their past sparring sessions.
-
Wardley (20-0-1, 19KOs) will make the first defence of his WBO title on Saturday night at Coop Live in Manchester against Dubois in a mouthwatering domestic affair that should act as a precursor to another ‘Battle of Britain’ between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua later in 2026.
Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) is back in rebuild territory after he suffered a second loss to Oleksandr Usyk last July, which was the third defeat of an up-and-down career where he has been crowned IBF champion but notably took a knee to lose to Joe Joyce in 2020 after he suffered serious damage to his left eye.
