FERRIE TAKES STAR ROLE AS RAE'S MEN PLUNDER PIRATES

- By ALEX DIDLICK

COVENTRY once again turned pressure into points, delivering a clinical, bonus-point win that underlined their growing confidence and momentum in the Champ Rugby table.

Coventry's fifth bonus-point victory in succession keeps the momentum rolling firmly towards the play off places. With a short break in the Champ Rugby schedule now ahead, the Cov Dogs head into the New Year full of confidence.

Alex Rae's side scored four first-half tries on a wet afternoon at the Butts Park Arena through Allan Ferrie, Peter Sullivan, Aristot Benz-Salomon and Senitiki Nayalo before man of the match Ferrie and Ewan Baker touched down after the break.

With Coventry's first sustained spell of possession came the home side's first dance under the posts. Back row Ferrie, running a lovely line off his forward partner Jordon Poole, crossed for the opening try inside three minutes. In greasy conditions, it was the perfect start for the hosts.
