FPTP means Reform doesn't need majority to win power

Once a party breaches the magic 30% threshold of national support FPTP's warped electoral mathematics begin to swing the pendulum of seat gains massively in its favour

The frightening reality is much worse than he can imagine because the UK’s “Mother of Parliaments” doesn't require a “tsunami of votes backing Reform UK” for Nigel Farage to claim the keys to Number 10 Downing Street. Our dysfunctional first-past-the-post [FPTP] voting system, used to elect MPs, can easily deliver that ignominious result with only a relatively small shift in public sentiment over the course of the current Labour administration’s term of office.
