Philippi East man killed after arson attack

Philippi East police registered a case of murder and arson following an incident on the corner of Sheffield Road and Somi Crescent, Lower Crossroads, where an unknown man was gunned down after setting a Somali-owned shop alight on Friday 20 February.

Provincial police spokesperson Const Ndakhe Gwala said the officers responded to a complaint and on arrival they found a shop in flames.
