All aboard for a thrilling ride on a spooky steam train
Carmarthen Journal
|October 01, 2025
IT MAY feel like summer has only just ended but as the nights get shorter and the autumn chill makes its presence felt, it won't be long until the spooky season of Halloween is here again.
A vintage railway line in Carmarthenshire is offering families a special train trip on the days leading up to and including Halloween which will be “complete with beautiful dazzling lights, ghosts and ghouls”
Gwili Railway's Halloween Lights of the Valley journeys take place on October 29 at 4pm and 6.15pm, October 30 at 11.30am, 4pm and 6.15pm, and on Halloween itself, October 31, at 4pm and 6.15pm.
Tickets start from £18 for adults and £14 for children, and all journeys will depart from the railway’s station at Abergwili Junction, a short distance from Glangwili Hospital on the edge of Carmarthen.
