KTR slams CM Reddy for ‘heartless negligence’ as Gurukul Schools face closure over unpaid rents

BRS Working President K T Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday, accusing the Congress government of allowing Telangana’s prestigious Welfare Gurukul Educational Institutions—once considered a model for the entire nation—to reach the brink of closure due to nonpayment of building rents.

Describing the situation as “a disgraceful and heartless act,” KTR said locking up Gurukul schools that transformed the lives of lakhs of poor students marks a dark chapter in the state's governance.

In a statement here, he accused the Chief Minister, who also holds the Education portfolio, of gross negligence, claiming that rent arrears had been pending for nearly a year.
