Indiramma Housing Scheme: Construction Should Not Exceed 600 Sq. Ft. : Minister Ponguleti

As part of the Indiramma Housing Scheme, the construction of houses should be between 400 and 600 square feet, said Telangana Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy.

Addressing District Collectors through a video conference from the state secretariat on Friday, the Minister emphasized expediting the selection process of 3,500 beneficiaries per constituency.

The Minister directed officials to ensure that a minimum of 500 houses are allocated in urban areas of each constituency and that the beneficiary lists be finalized promptly with the approval of in-charge ministers. He warned that if ineligible individuals are identified—even during construction—their allotments would be canceled.

The Minister stressed that beneficiary selection should be fair, focusing on the truly poor, regardless of their names appearing in List-1, List-2, or List-3. He also urged collectors to take precautions to maintain the specified housing size limits.
