Gram Panchayats without funds

(Capital Information) Medak/Sangareddy/Siddipet, Jun 16 :
-
Since the end of the tenure of the Sarpanchs on February 1, 2024, all kinds of work in the Gram Panchayats, such as sanitation management, installation of street lights, and rural drinking water supply, should be done under the chairmanship of a special officer under the orders of the government.
But since gazetted employees of various departments have been appointed as special officers, the Panchayat secretaries have to fully supervise all the work in the villages.
Since the rule of the special officers came, since the state government has not given funds to the villages for 17 months, due to the absence of a ruling class and the central government has stopped funding, there has been no governance in the villages. Already, under the pressure of higher authorities, the Panchayat secretaries have spent 3 lakhs to 10 lakhs of rupees depending on the needs in the Gram Panchayat for the management of Gram Panchayats.
