July 15, 2025

In a significant development reflecting the waning influence of the banned CPI (Maoist) party, five of its members, including two women, surrendered before Mulugu District Superintendent of Police Dr. Shabarish P, IPS, here today.

The surrender took place as part of the ongoing awareness campaign “Pora Kanna Ooru Minna — Return to Your Village", jointly organized by Mulugu district police and CRPF battalion forces.

The five surrendered cadres, hailing from various regions in Chhattisgarh, cited their desire to abandon the path of extremism and embrace a peaceful and progressive life under the rehabilitation schemes offered by the Telangana Government. Among the five, one was serving in the rank of ACM (Area Committee Member), while the remaining four were active party members.
