EC Announces Poll Schedule for Assembly Elections in Five States

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India on Sunday announced the schedule for the 2026 General Elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and the Union Territory of Puducherry.

According to the Commission, polling in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry will be held in a single phase on April 9, while Tamil Nadu will vote on April 23. West Bengal will go to the polls in two phases - on April 23 and April 29. Counting of votes for all five Assemblies is scheduled for May 4.
