Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to initiate measures to strengthen local bodies

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to initiate measures to strengthen local bodies through their own revenue resources besides the support from both Central and state governments.

He said the local bodies identified with backwardness and low per capita income should be provided special assistance.

The fifth state Finance Commission meeting was held at the Secretariat on Wednesday. The commission members handed over the commission recommendations for strengthening the local bodies to the Chief Minister.
