GNU COULD BE COSTLY FOR SOME PARTIES

THE formation of the Government of National Unity (GNU), while still largely questionable, was sold as a vehicle that would deliver the much-needed government efficiency and importantly, accountability.

It was touted as a government that would finally turn the fortunes of the country for the better, especially for economic growth and addressing the alarming levels of inequality. After all, this was a government formed by multiple political parties that not only worked day and night to see the demise of the ANC, but to demonstrate that indeed it is possible to have an ethical, caring and competent government.
