Pirates are back in command
Cape Argus
|December 15, 2025
ORLANDO Pirates etched their name deeper into the annals of South African football history by clinching the Carling Cup with a 2-0 victory over the Carling All-Stars at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
-
This victory marks a historic milestone for the Buccaneers, as they became the first champions of the Carling Knockout to win this mid-season exhibition competition since its inception in 2023.
With a remarkable year unfolding for Pirates, they have already secured two major trophies, the MTN8 and the Carling Knockout, earlier in the season. This achievement not only underscores their local dominance but also highlights the successful coaching debut of head coach Moroccan-born Abdeslam Ouaddou.
