New Park Rangers deployed to boost safety at Sea Point Promenade
Cape Argus
|August 19, 2025
AS WARMER weather settles across the City, a new team of officers, known as the Park Rangers, have been deployed to Sea Point Promenade.
Ward councillor, Nicola Jowell made the announcement and showed off the teams dressed in their uniform, who have been deployed for a 24-hour shift, seven days a week since the beginning of the month.
The patrols come after calls for more vigilance of residents and visitors to the promenade including that of the protection of city property and infrastructure and parks.
The promenade sees thousands of visitors daily.
Jowell said four rangers would work a shift and that their mandate was to support the City Parks in preventing bylaw infringements and littering.
