Melkbosstrand teen aims for Broadway
Cape Argus
|October 13, 2025
BRANDON Strydom, 18, from Melkbosstrand is a young performer with a big dream — to study musical theatre at the New York Film Academy and to perform on Broadway.
He is calling on the public to help him make his dream a reality.
Originally from Durban, Brandon began acting at the Westville Theatre Club when he was six years old. At the age of 11, he directed his first play.
“Theatre has always been part of my life. I was also in the choir and took drama as a subject,” he said.
Three years ago, Brandon's family moved to Cape Town, where he joined Parklands College and began taking professional acting and vocal training.
He performed in school musicals and competed in the Western Cape Musical Eisteddfod, where he received glowing feedback.
