The incident took place on Soetkop Street at approximately 9.10pm, as the group of men were relaxing during last week's heatwave. Three armed men approached and opened fire on them.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa said that Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) detectives are investigating the shooting.

“Police reports indicate that a group of seven men was sitting outside drinking when a vehicle with occupants emerged at approximately 8.10pm. Three armed men alighted and started shooting randomly at the group,” Potelwa said.
