Whoopers' winter at Ouse Washes reserve

RSPB staff at the Ouse Washes nature reserve in March have been counting the number of whooper swans on site - and have found more than 6,000 birds.

In a post on social media, an RSPB spokesman said: “Up to 6,500 whooper swans have been counted on Cambridgeshire’s RSPB Ouse Washes nature reserve this month, creating a white-feathered winter wonderland at dawn as they wake from roosting on site.
