Joint Action to Combat Youth Substance Abuse

Substance abuse among children and adolescents is emerging as a pressing public health and social challenge across Maharashtra.

Easy access to prescription medicines, availability of intoxicating substances, and peer pressure are driving risky behaviours that harm young lives and communities.

In response, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has spearheaded a Joint Action Plan, uniting health services, education departments, law enforcement, and other agencies in a coordinated effort to curb drug and substance misuse among youth.
