|March 18, 2026
SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP), a joint venture between Aboitiz Renewables, Inc. and Norway-based Scatec ASA’s SN Power Philippines Inc., is gearing up to boost its renewable energy (RE) and battery energy storage system (BESS) portfolio as it aims to end 2026 with 729 megawatts (MW).
At present, SNAP’s total capacity is 673 MW. The additional 56 MW will come from two BESS projects that will be activated within the year. These are the 16-MW Magat BESS 2 in Isabela and the 40-MW Binga BESS 1 in Benguet.
“We should end 2026 at 729 megawatts. We will turn on two battery projects in 2026. So, we have the expansion of the Magat project. We’re expanding it from 24 megawatts to 40 megawatts. And then for Binga, we will turn on... That is a 40-megawatt project. And it should turn on around the middle of the year,” said SNAP President and CEO Joseph Yu.
