THESE GREAT MOBILE TITLES WILL HELP YOU WHILE AWAY THE LAZY HOURS POOLSIDE
THE summer holidays are finally here, the kids are off school and many of us are looking forward to a week or two away.
And whether you're jetting off to sunnier climes or hitting the road for a staycation, it’s great to have some quality time with the family.
If burying your head in a book isn’t your thing, you can still get a poolside gaming fix courtesy of some great mobile titles.
Something to bear in mind is that while some of these games are free, that’s because there are in-app purchases they want to push.
So if you're planning on letting the kids loose on any of them, make sure you've locked down purchasing rights.
Lecture over, here are some of the best mobile games available now.
SUBNAUTICA
(PEGI 7) Android, i0S Price: £8.99 (£9.99 on i0S) This game has been around for a while and I was intrigued by the notion that it had made the leap to mobile.
After crashing on an alien planet that’s mainly ocean, you have to set about exploring the depths for resources.
You can craft equipment and submarines to help you dive to lush coral reefs, volcanoes and cave systems that might hold the key to your survival.
Graphically, it’s simply stunning for a mobile game and it runs surprisingly smoothly on my Android device.
Initially the controls feel a bit odd, steering things around by hand, but you soon get used to it.
BALATRO
(PEGI 12) Android, iOS Price: £9.99
