Titley left frustrated despite late leveller

BURTON dented the perfect record of Regional 1 North West leaders Anselmians but Crofters director of rugby Harry Titley was frustrated at the end.

The Wirral club had won all six of their games before arriving at Battlestead Croft but Thomas Braun scored a last-gasp unconverted try for Burton to claim a 24-24 draw.

It was Braun's second try of the game, while Guy Kirkpatrick and Dom Phillips also touched down for the home side. Kirkpatrick kicked two conversions.

But Titley thought his side had missed an opportunity to get more from the game as the Crofters slipped from second to third in the table, overtaken by Huddersfield.

“There's mixed feelings after this draw,” said Titley.
