BARTON were 4-2 winners at home against Loughborough Students at the weekend.
-
Loughborough started at a fast pace in usual fashion keeping Barton pressed back.
Barton waited their turn and started to get in behind Loughborough with Will Rawbon the first to test the keeper with a reverse stick effort.
Ten minutes in and Barton earned the first short corner of the game, a quick flick from Jake Foster was scuffled out by the keeper leaving Jamie Jenkins to rebound at goal hitting the defenders leg on the line with Owen Harrison then following in to make sure to take the lead.
Loughborough didn't fade away and hit back on 20 minutes after a fierce shot from the top from a tight angle found the net.
Barton hit back immediately after the restart with Mark Latham taking down an aerial on the left side of the D, Latham made light work of three defenders on the base line before flicking the ball over the keeper to regain the lead leaving the score 2-1 at halftime.
