DYLAN Church dropped anchor for a crucial unbeaten 68 as Bedminster closed out a five-wicket home win over struggling Frocester to remain second in Premier One of the West of England Premier League.

The opener faced 100 balls, striking nine boundaries, as his side chased down a modest target of 172 after winning the toss, with Ollie Meadows the next highest scorer on 29.

Earlier, there were three wickets apiece for Elliot Mason and Fahad Sabir as Frocester battled to put together a competitive total.

This result means Bedminster are now 33 points behind leaders Bridgwater, who suffered only their second defeat of the campaign with a three-wicket reverse away to Bath.

Cam Harding shone with an unbeaten 105 off 132 balls (12 fours) in the visitors’ total of 233-9 before Sam Young took centre stage in the Bath chase, finishing on 136 not out from 146 (13 fours, four sixes) as the points were banked with an over to spare.
