Record number of competitors at flower show

PILNING Open Flower Show celebrated its 130th year at St Peter's School over the bank holiday weekend with a record number of competitors.
-
The big winners on the day were Ali and Tim Dark who came away with eight trophies including Best in Show for Top Vase, highest points in flowers and for the whole show, best allotment in Severn Beach and best tasting jam.
The best in show was a close-run thing with Bob Roper's Top Tray and Jane O'Leary's beautifully crafted jacket in crafts, also pushing for glory.
