Probe after recycling bags 'falling apart at the seams'

COUNCIL chiefs are investigating following a series of complaints about recycling bags.

North Somerset Council has acknowledged some of the new red sacks are already “falling apart at the seams”.

Council cabinet member for planning and environment Annemieke Waite told a full council meeting: “It's a very strange thing.”

Giving an update in response to a question from councillor Jemma Collins, Ms Waite said the red bags ordered for the trial of the scheme last November were fine and had remained in “perfect condition.”
