Optimism at BT despite 10% fall in profit

TELECOMS giant BT Group has reported a 10% fall in its pretax profit, alongside a 3% dip in adjusted revenue, while maintaining that it is ‘on track’ to meet full-year guidance.

In a trading update for the quarter ending June 30, the FTSE 100 firm revealed to shareholders that its pretax profit had fallen by 10% to £468m, “primarily due to an increase in net finance
