Mehmeti: We need players to step up against Watford

ANIS Mehmeti has called on himself and his Bristol City teammates to “step up” and “show character” ahead of their trip to Watford, after the Robins slipped to a second successive defeat against Blackburn Rovers at Ashton Gate on Tuesday.

In what was, in truth, a poor game, Yuki Ohashi scored what proved to be the winner deep in first-half injury time to condemn City to back-to-back losses for the first time this season.

The preventable nature of the away side’s goal left Mehmeti frustrated. However, the Albanian international was equally unhappy with the limited attacking threat he and his teammates carried - not just against Blackburn, but over the course of the last few weeks.
