Hazey days 'Nasty Nick' auctions rare Jimi Hendrix interview tape

A RARE tape of an interview between a former EastEnders star and Jimi Hendrix when he was a teenager has sold at auction for more than £3,000.

John Altman, better known as EastEnders' 'Nasty' Nick Cotton, met rock superstars including Hendrix and Rick Wright from Pink Floyd at a gig in Chatham, Kent, on December 1, 1967 - and the star lavished praise on the Bristol audience he had played to the previous night.

Aged just 15, John was skipping school and helped roadies lug gear into the venue.

Alongside two mates, cheeky John pulled out his tape recorder and conducted an exclusive interview with the pair.

Now, he's auctioned off the three-minute long recording, alongside rare items including an autograph album signed by Hendrix, a signed Fleetwood Mac ticket, and other memorabilia from Pink Floyd, The Who, and David Bowie.
