Hardy's spot-kick ensures battling point for Robins
Bristol Post
|March 17, 2026
BRISTOL City were held to a 2-2 WSL 2 draw by Portsmouth at Westleigh Park on Sunday.
-
Goals from Jessie Gale and Rio Hardy either side of halftime were cancelled out by an own goal and a contentious penalty from Lucy Shepherd.
Fran Bentley and Mari Ward were among those restored to the starting XI after the FA Cup defeat to Arsenal.
City began brightly, with Ward firing wide inside two minutes.
The Robins took the lead when Katie Robinson delivered a pinpoint cross towards Gale, who headed home from close range.
The hosts drew level almost immediately when Jazz Bull's cross was inadvertently headed past Fran Bentley by Oliwia Wos.
