Golf Thomas not daunted by US Open course

JUSTIN Thomas is undaunted by the prospect of taming one of the toughest courses in golf when the US Open gets under way at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania this week.

The two-time PGA Championship winner has emerged as one of the leading contenders to add to his major tally after rediscovering the form that swept him to fifth place in the FedEx Cup standings at the end of 2022.
Thomas, who won his first tournament in three years at the RBC Heritage in South Carolina in April, said: “I understand this place is hard.
“I don’t need to read articles, or I don’t need to hear horror stories. I've played it. I know it’s difficult. I also have faith that if I play well and I’m driving the ball well and I’m hitting my irons like I know I can, I'm going to have a lot of birdie opportunities.
